Chapter 1: The Eye of Horus
Then the first of the three high priests spoke unto the supplicant,
saying, "If thou hast delved into the chamber through the AU portal
in search of thine inspiration, thou hast learned there is no
guerdon without travail. If thou wouldst accept this trial
to reveal the obscure, gaze deep within mine Eye and listen
well.
If thou canst discover what God hath wrought, I
will lead thee into the wilderness, to wander alone, to face
the elements, and to make a choice. Choose wisely and I will
lead thee beside tree and stream and hill and lake where
thou would otherwise stumble blindly along the bluffs. Here amongst
the trees shalt thou use the words of a visionary and an
enigma to unlock the secrets of the daitaigwahni' which
have journeyed before thee.
In thy desperation and thy fear, thou shalt call
out ... demanding the answer to thy goal. Yet
even as the answer is revealed, thou shalt find that
it leadith to more obstacles that bar thy way. It is in thy time of
greatest darkness, amidst the roots of the monumental maple,
that thou must vouchsafe to see thine tribulations in a new light
if thou art to continue. Return then to the wilderness, where
you will seek forty-one degrees and thirteen
minutes northeast and by north. If thou hast
remained valiant and true to the quest, thou shalt
discover the key to unlock that which could not be seen
erstwhile.
In the end, thou shalt find balance and seek rest
where all points meet, all questions are answered,
and all rewards are received."
