Geocache Description:

This is a Multi cache featuring 8 pubs

This is a series of 8 pubs throughout the Wirral. The eight pubs are THE DEE VIEW THE THATCH THE WHEATSHEAF NESS THE SEVEN STARS THE FOX AND HOUNDS THE FARMERS ARMS THE MAGS & PILOT THE FERRY & THE TAP (BONUS CACHE) This is a series of 8 pubs throughout the Wirral. None of the caches are hidden at the pub. They are a short walk away. The co-ords given are for the pub car park. You will have to work out the co-ordinates from a clue when you reach the pub and also a pub quiz question given at the bottom of this page before you do this cache. There is no need to enter the pub as all clues are outside, so this series is suitable for families with children. You will also find in each cache a number to work out the final cache. Except for the final cache, you can do them in any order. Wirral has so many lovely pubs from quiet relaxing pubs, child friendly pubs and also pubs with great entertainment. Best of all we have lots of “Real Ale” pubs. This series, we hope will hi-light some of our fantastic pubs. There is a FTF in every cache and a Trophy in the final cache. Please don’t take the trophy unless you have done all the pubs and signed the logbooks. The best kept secret on the Wirral, the Wheatsheaf, and best known as The Thatch is one of our favourite pubs. Initially it was thought to have been a pub since early 1600 but further research shows that it was a farm smallholding licenced to brew and sell beer in the pre 1300s making it one of the oldest pubs on Merseyside. It has "olde worlde" charm and plenty of character with it’s long bar, low beams, real fires gleaming horse brasses and an assortment of mugs hanging from the ceiling. The choice of beer is impressive, one of my favourites being “Old Peculiar”. There are also quest beers. They serve bar meals and also meals in the cowshed, a mini banqueting hall. No jukebox, telly or darts just atmosphere and good beer. Wes “Mine Host” once farmed the land around the pub until he bought the lease in 1995. On a warm summer evening you would probably find it so busy it’s hard to get through the door, but there are plenty of places to sit outside in the beer garden or the benches on the front. This is one pub you have just got to visit. Quiz Question. How many dominoes make up a set? A 28 B 26 C 30 A= .650 B= .780 C= .342 N=N53 18._ _ _ Pub Question Above the door of the pub is a date. Subtract the first number in the date from the second to get the first missing digit. To get the second digit, add all the digits up together. W= W003 02 .5_ _ The number you have to save for the final cache is_________________
