Geocache Description:

This is a short level walk mostly tarmac path park at
N 51 34.480 W 001 50.140 Follow footpath around lake

Peatmoor Lagoon was built /formed in 1987 and as you will see when you visit is a thriving lake with lots of wildlife to see especially as Peatmoor Copse is at the end of the lake ......
Peatmoor Copse was part of the vast ancient Braydon Forest, used as a Royal Hunting ground.
Now sadly long gone and broken up into smaller areas of woodland ...
Peatmoor Copse
Had become quite derelict with few birds, insects or wildflowers. The Peatmoor Woodland Group have worked on the site for the last 17 years as volunteers. Today the copse has a circular nature trail, a wide variety of wild flowers and a large range of birds and insects.

You will need to walk all the way around the lake (1/2 hour)to complete the task ....

The pathway was mud free today but i think maybe in the summer some protection against the stingers may be a good idea .....This is are first cache so hopefully we have got it all right ......The Lake is very popular with Dog Walkers/walkers and fishermen so stealth is the name of the game if you do not want to be muggled ....

The Final cache is now a lot smaller due to being muggled so small items only please ............

Would like to say a big Thank You to Roger Ogle from Swindon link magazine
who provided us with some great material for the cache including
a little history of the Lake and the aerial photo at the cache .......... (visit link)

Hope you enjoy…the cache …
