Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache. You need to stroll around Taunton's historic Vivary Park answering various clues. The answers reveal the location of the cache. This is within a radius of 1.5 miles of the park. To reach the cache from the park you will need to cross fields on footpaths that can be muddy.

The location given is not of the cache itself, but is of handy parking adjacent to Vivary Park, in the centre of Taunton. If this parking is full, there is plenty more in the adjacent streets or (if desperate) there is a multi storey not far away.

Solve the clues shown below and in the waypoint list and you will have numeric values for A, B, C, D, E and F. If you add these values together you will get 26.

Question 1: N 51° 00.550 W 003° 05.998 At this location you will see a biblical text marked up on a refreshing piece of stone work. The text is full of 'thee' and 'thou', but how many letter Es are there? Deduct 13 from this number - the answer is A.
Question 2: N 51° 00.616 W 003° 06.094 Here you will find a very old oak tree. But exactly how old was it in 2006? Take the first digit of this number - this is C.
Question 3: N 51° 00.652 W 003° 06.132 This is an historic ornamental fountain. It is decorated around the outside with many large white flowers. But exactly how many large flowers are there around it? The second digit of this number is B.
Question 4: N 51° 00.679 W 003° 06.251 Taunton is not known as a coastal town, but how many beaches can you see from here? the answer is D.
Question 5: N 51° 00.689 W 003° 06.175 How many Mr Williams are there on this memorial - look carefully. Add 5 to this number - the answer is E.
Question 6: N 51° 00.595 W 003° 05.945 Stand in this position and look straight down at your feet. What four digit number is cast into this plaque? Take the first digit of this number. This is F.

The actual position of the cache is N50°59.ABC W3°06.DEF.

In order to reach this location you will need to take a walk along a public footpath that goes through fields and over stiles. After wet weather it can be very muddy, but you will have some lovely views of the town. You are looking for a camoflaged plastic jar. It contains the usual small trinkets, log book and pencil.
