Tick….Tick….Tick…..Tick…. the hands of the clock seemed to stand still as Kyaya paced impatiently. She wanted the Hunt to begin. She had spent weeks dreaming of the jubilation she would feel when she finally got her hands on one of the treasured “Kiss of Midnight” Eggs.
Kyaya just before the Night Hunt begins…
But right now she knew she had to wait until darkness had fallen to start the hunt; or else she would be disqualified before she even started.
Kyaya was of the Yautja race; a species known throughout the universe as “Hunters”. Yautjas excel at stalking and killing their prey with an arsenal of advanced Geotracking weapons. They also come prepared with basic devices such as spears, frying pans and flashlights. The Yautja thrill in the challenge of tracking and killing their quarry. Nocturnal hunts in particular seem to elicit the biggest gratification.
The Yautja have developed a complex tribal culture around their status in the food chain as the ultimate predator. Their code of honor dictates what makes a worthy adversary and what makes a Yautja more respected in their tight knit community.
Tonight is was Kyaya’s turn. A fresh clutch of Xenomorph Eggs had been hatched and hidden. Kyaya would have until “Midnight” to find the concealed nest and make the kill. Based on her experience with similar hunts, she felt confident that she could do this in just over an hour, but then again, this was for “Nan De-Than Gaun”; she did not want to take any chances…. nor underestimate the challenges that lay ahead.
If Kyaya found the eggs after midnight, embarrassing disgrace would become her fate. However should she be victorious, she could claim a “Pure Win”. Kyaya could obtain the symbol of immense admiration…. “The Kiss of Midnight” …..a slimy Xenomorph egg that she would display proudly as her trophy of great honor.
The hunt combines great skill as a hunter with the intelligence of a scholar. For the successful kill, one must learn the source language of the Goa’uld. As the “supposed” inventors of the Stargate; the Goa’uld technology represents the crux move in this nighttime challenge.
Kyaya had heard rumors on how to decipher the secrets of the mysterious Stargate. But first she would have to visit “The Hunting Grounds of Te’dqi”. By following the Guan-thwei trails at Te’dqi, she could find the ancient clandestine writings on the “Kantra” sites. The veiled inscriptions would disclose the location of the “Stargate”.
At the Stargate site Kyaya would need to study the diagram schematic in order to learn how to operate the portal with the essential coded location sequence. Once she conquered the enigma of the Stargate; she would then be able uncover the clutch of concealed eggs. Victory would be sweet! M-di H’chak M-di H’dlak!
Rules of Engagement
A) All entrants must provide their proper GeoCaching names. Group Hunts need only to sign in once. To enter, simply list all participants’ GC names on one entry submittal. Single hunters will be slightly disadvantaged when operating the Stargate. The night hunt is designed for small stealthy groups.
B) Hunters should definitely bring their own weapons of the night; (flashlights) which will be quite useful at times and quite detrimental at other times. Night weapon use should be closely monitored by the eldest member of the hunting party.
C) There is a limited number of Xenomorph Eggs. The Yautja honor code dictates that only 1 egg per hunt be harvested and taken away. Typically 1 member of the hunting party will “distinguish” themselves through great courage or intellectual prowess. This makes the choice of “most deserving” relatively easy. A group consensus is required and the final ceremony should include much rejoicing. Special Note: All members of the successful hunting group are allowed to “play” with the contents of the egg.
Upon arriving at the coordinates for The Stargate
1) You will find yourself within the center of the Stargate - Examine the STARGATE and look for the hidden Stargate GLYPHS. 2) Using the Stargate Instructions shown above, find the correct Glyph Sequence Pairs. Line up the Glyphs Pairs to determine the correct direction. 3) Once you have the correct direction; use your GPS unit at the center of the Stargate. From the center of the Stargate and lining up the two glyphs in the designated direction for the noted amount of feet and then walk correct the Distance Measurement to find the hidden coordinates (example: walk in the direction from MIC towards NORMA and not the other way around). 4) Combine all 3 hidden (X, Y, Z) coordinates to get the location of the “Egg Hatchery”. 5) Proceed to the Final location: “The XENOMORPH EGG HATCHERY” and claim your Victory Prize.
Remember, you must log your visit BEFORE the final stroke of Midnight. Pay close attention to ALL the instructions on this web page description. Also ability to translate Stargate glyphs is required at the Stargate - come prepared.
