Atlanta's Dekalb Avenue, the east-west MARTA line, and the CSX
railroad tracks all run parallel along an important ridge. The
Eastern Subcontinental Divide starts in southern Florida and runs
more or less north to the St. Lawrence Seaway. Water on the eastern
side drains into the Atlantic Ocean; on the western side water
drains into the Gulf of Mexico. Here on the east side of Atlanta,
the Divide takes an easterly turn for a few miles.
At the above coordinates, residents of the Lake Claire
neighborhood, under the direction of artist David Fichter, have
painted a 340-foot mural to highlight this geographically important
spot. Come enjoy their artwork and find a micro cache in the
process.

GPS reception is not great here, for reasons which will be made
clear when you visit. And the closer you get to the cache, the
worse your reception will be. The above coordinates are averaged.
Use the hint if you have trouble.
Do not park on Dekalb Avenue - it's illegal and dangerous. You
can park on one of several side streets - Connecticut Avenue is the
closest. Please don't go onto private property, and you don't have
to venture near the MARTA tracks. And bring your own pen and
pencil.
Thanks to Lake Claire Neighbors for allowing this cache.
Update - 4/22/07: When the cache was placed, the mural was 95%
complete. As of today, it has been completely finished and touched
up. If you visited in the past, stop by and check it out. There is
also a new informational sign just to the east (right) of the
mural.
FTF: Birdie Moms - congrats!
