Write note mraymondus posted a note for The Florida Scavenger Hunt Cache (Locked) (Locationless (Reverse) Cache)

The Next Quest: In Search of...

In the next quest, you will be in search of the 5kunk Ape. For those who don't know what a 5kunk Ape is, let me elaborate some... The 5kunk Ape is a huminoid mammal that is probably directly related to the better known B1gf00t. 5kunk Apes have been spotted throughout Florida by locals, hunters, tourists, and others. There are sightings of the infamous 5kunk Ape in Florida as recently as 2004. You can read about these sightings on the B1gfoot Research Organization's web site (www.bfr0.net -- but replace the zero with an 'o')

So here's what you need to do to claim rights to finding this cache. You must seek a deep woods Flordia cache (you can't be the owner and it must be a new find for you). In your log for that cache find, you must document and photograph evidence of a close encounter with the 5kunk Ape and it must be convincing. Since I don't personally believe in 5kunk Ape or his cousin, B1gf00t, I know you will be manufacturing the evidence and being creative with your writing of the log. But I want it to sound good - so good that future cachers are edgy about seeking it. Ultimately, I'd like for your log to end up (by word of mouth) documented on the www.bfr0.net site) or geocaching.com.

There are many websites out there with detailed encounter descriptions and photos. For example:
(visit link)

So get out there, have a random encounter with a 5kunk ape, and document it for all to see!

WARNING: I have purposely obscured the words 5kunk Ape and B1gf00t by substituting numbers for letters so this entry and page won't get picked up by web searches for the actual target of the quest. Any posts that you make on this cache page must also follow suit or our hoax will be detected by these guys who take B1gf00t and 5kunk Ape sightings seriously. Our objective is to have the quest remain anonymous while the cache log is public and detectable by web searches.

Holy Cow! What's that!
Good example of what you might find in the dark near a cache!

infoLocationless Caches could be considered the opposite of a Traditional Cache. Instead of finding a hidden container, you are given a task to locate a specific object and log its coordinates. A scavenger hunt of sorts, it involves collecting waypoints of various objects around the world.

Locationless caches have evolved into Waymarking. Waymark categories are similar to how locationless caches were listed on geocaching.com, but you can now search for the locations in each category.
