Attended oregonjohn1 attended Jackson Park Earth Day 2013 CITO Event

Saturday, April 20, 2013Wisconsin

After helping to clean up Estabrook Park at beezers958's Eastside CITO Event in the morning, the afternoon CITO activities continued with many familiar faces and some new ones at this event. It was nice to see some attending their first event, several from out of state and caching on their anniversary, and others new to geocaching. Talking to a Milwaukee County Sheriff with BOuLdeR7, we may have gotten someone interesting in geocaching or at least told her why they will see people hunting around trees and bushes.

It was awesome day co-hosting this event along with Pawn-of-Chaos, Wisjanine, Livingtoplay, and BOuLdeR7 and it wouldn't have been the success it was without all the geocachers and their family members who came to help clean up Jackson Park.

Thank you to everyone who brought a treat to pass. During the planning of this event, a lot of people at the Milwaukee County Parks Dept., the Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful organization, along with the staff at Jackson Park who assisted with the use of the pavilion also helped make this event possible and successful as well.

A big thanks to Sometimes Eye Twitch at American Science and Surplus, Dale at Downer True Value Hardware, Dunkin Donuts, Jay at Starbucks, and Rob at Sherpers for their generous donations--- please thank these wonderful establishments the next time you buy something from one of these fine businesses.

infoCache In Trash Out Events are organized clean-up events that involve and benefit the larger community. Cache In Trash Out is an activity intimately tied to geocaching. While out there on a cache hunt, geocachers collect litter along the trails and properly dispose of it.
