Saturday, December 01, 2012Texas

Has a good feeling exactly where this would be, as Lil Ags and I had been canoeing here a couple of weeks ago with Grandpa, but were not caching. Lil Ags wanted to be the one to spot the cache, so we started paddling over once the group was putting back I. As we were heading over, something happened and the canoe just rolled over dumping all three of us into the 3 ft deep water. Lil Ags panicked a little, but we were able to calm him down once he realized he could stand up in the water. Once we got the boat right sized and hopped in, we made the mistake of not getting enough of the water out, and we soon rolled again. This time, we would not make that mistake again. We lifted the canoe and got all the water out before hopping back in. Unfortunately, the caching gods got their revenge this time, as my Delorme PN-40 detached from my carabiner and floated away down the bayou. Thanks to the folks who helped us get righted. Hopefully there will not be any videos showing up of our adventure.

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
