We wanted to get out to do some caching today after losing most of yesterday due to the Frostbite Run in Stevens Point. We decided to stick closer to home due to the cold temperatures. There were a select few caches left in Waushara County that I had yet to get and this was one of them. We pulled into the parking area and put blaze orange on the dog and on ourselves since it is muzzleloader season. We headed off toward the GZ and soon found ourselves right where we needed to be. This was as far as I had made it the last time that I attempted this cache because I couldn't even find the container at the first waypoint. Today I spotted it within about 30 seconds and had another set of coordinates to head off to. We arrived at WP #2 and looked around for about a minute before my wife spotted the container. We loaded the coordinates and headed off toward waypoint #3. There really wasn't any clear best way to travel so we waited until we found a deer trail headed in that direction and we took it. Along the way the dog rustled up a mouse and it ran across my wife's shoe which caused her to let out a loud "EEEEEKKK!!!!" We arrived at waypoint 3 and found the coordinates for the final. This is where the rest of the trip went to crap. We headed in the general direction of the final and couldn't find a decent way to get there. My GPS was squawking that the batteries were low and it was getting dark. We decided to pull the plug and come back to get the final some other day. Wouldn't you know it...for some reason my GPS didn't save the final coordinates! Now I will have to travel back out to WP #3 to get the coordinates again, unless the CO would be so nice as to send them to me...ahem, Jim?? Please?? Either way I will be back out here soon, though I think next time it very well may on snowshoes! Great cache so far, and it definitely will get a favorite point from me! Thanks for the adventure.
