Chilli was HOT
.... red HOT
.... and by HOT .... I mean 4 star Chilli HOT
.... but more about that later, you'll have to read on....
Well, I hand entered 67 possible combinations into 'Lil Blue at home and hoped that we would hit it lucky. Chilli and I departed the 'Wack bright and early this morning to try and put a notch in our caps, so to speak. The first two combinations were quickly eliminated, but we were temporarily stalled at the third. We determined that we would chance the fourth combination....lucky waypoint #18
... it seemed possible ... and that's when cool hand Chilli was no longer cool. He spotted it first, the original cache as confirmed with HC via phone after finding it...minus a logbook... put a new logbook inside the container and left a couple of Spirit of 2010 pins. We closed it up and were just a few metres away when a rather hurried, puzzled, and inexplicable sense of urgency appeared on Chilli's face. He was throwing money at me, his truck keys, his wallet, and then two batteries from his pocket that were hot to the touch...hey, I know you need to pay to play with Garmin users, but whoa, dude
. But it wasn't over.....yet.... he said there was one more battery in his pocket, the burning sensation hadn't subsided yet and he couldn't touch the battery...off to be a part of nature he went, I just looked at the money on the ground...."come on, take the money and run". Then he called me over to witness a melted, smouldering mass of expanded battery on the ground. Coins, keys, and battery leads led to a meltdown. I used the only thing I had ..to carry it back to a garbage can.
Thanks for a very memorable 2nd cacheversary cache ... we chuckled about it for the next 2 or 3 caches
