Found on a sunny hillside overlooking what was once a huge inland sea. This inland sea, Glacial Lake Missoula, was the cause of one of the largest geologic events 12-20,000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age. The Lake filled and drained a dozen or more times and in the process, changed the landscape from Helena, Montana to the Pacific Ocean. All that great topsoil in the Willamette Valley of Oregon? All the "Scablands" of Eastern Washington? Glacial Lake Missoula says, "You're Welcome!"
