So, this is gonna be a little long, but the tale needs to be told. The motorcycle group I ride with was doing one last summer (overnight) trip from Lewiston, ID to Lolo Hot Springs, MT. The same trip, I was going for a 3-state in 1 day challenge. I spotted this online and thought it would be fitting for it to tag along into Montana and back so I stopped and picked it up on the ride.
When we arrived, we found out there was also a 3-day rave/shine party going on! Being we're all ex-military, we adapted and overcame, and blended our party with the HUNDREDS of youths. I say youths only because most of us are 40+. lol If you've never been to a rave like me, it's..... an interesting experience. Imagine Woodstock with hip/hop-techno versions of your favorite classic rock songs and everyone dressed in bright and bizarre costumes. I won't say it was bad, but I'll stick to my rock and country. haha
In the end, 'Free bird' traveled almost back to Lolo MT for a cache, then to a rave, then the 200 (+/-) miles to Lewiston, ID visiting a few caches along the way. It may make a few more visits this week before moving on to newer places. May this TB find itself among more of America's great cultural experiences... even if it is a little strange. :)
