This little guy spent thousands of years forming into the geode he is today. Now after all that time resting in one place for so long he wants to travel the world and see places he's never been to. Help him hitch hike his way to new and exciting places, but only pick up this "Geode Cache" travel bug if you can drop him off within about a weeks time.
Geodes begin as bubbles in volcanic rock or as animal burrows, tree roots or mud balls in sedimentary rock. Over time, the outer shell of the spherical shape hardens, and water containing silica precipitation forms on the inner walls of the hollow cavity within the geode. Over a period of thousands of years, layers of silica cool, forming crystals of different minerals within the cavity. Different types of silica cool at varying temperatures, thus creating layers of different types of mineral crystals.
