Superman the travel bug wants to go to New York City and ascend to the top of Empire State Building and then return home to The Tweedy Bird cache. Please post a photo of Superman with New York City in the background.
Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1933 and sold to Detective Comics in 1938. I was introduced to Superman via watching the black and white Adventures of Superman series that ran on TV from 1952 to 1958 staring George Reeves. Who could forget the now famous introduction to each episode, “Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound!”, and “Fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way!” When I hear these words, I always think of New York City, the Empire State Building and the new Freedom Tower. I also think of those men and women in uniform whether a solider, veteran, firefighter, policemen or other civil servant who put their life on the line to keep America free and safe.
