The "Prowling Cougar" would like to prowl any where Cougars are found. The Mountain Lion has roamed most of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This is as close as I could find to the Mt. Lion that has many different names (Cougar, Puma, Panther) and is a tawny prowler that hunts mostly at night. I understand they make a 30 mile circle and sometimes make it into a 60 mile figure eight. While they are reported not to eat live stock I personally know of one incident that I was involved in during a round-up on an Arizona Ranch where a young mother was bawling for her calf and a big two year old male Lion jumped out from the brush and the cow dogs treed him in a big dead juniper tree about 1/4 of a mile from the kill. We found the remains of the calf with limbs and brush pawed over it where the lion intended to return and finish his meal. We wern't to far from camp so I rode back and retreived my 30-30 Winchester rifle and ended Mr. Cougars calf killing days. I understand the circle of life and have great respect for the Mt. Lion. Treat him kindly.
