It took awhile, but we finally got the poor Wolfman dropped off. His current haunt is just beneath the site of an ancient ruin, last inhabited about 700 years ago, in Ulrichstein, northeast of Frankfurt, Germany.
Here is a German website with information about the ruins:
www.vogelsberggarten.de
Prior to the drop off, the Greyback Wolf saw a good bit of central Austria, and especially liked the alps outside the village of Abtenau.
We took some pictures, which I'll try to upload for this log. Not sure how this feature works.
This turned out to (almost) be a VERY expensive cache. The skies were turning black and green with an incoming thunderstorm, so we hustled up to the site, then to the old ruin and then back to the village where we parked the car.
Just as we were leaving, I realized there was no GPS, so had to retrace about a mile of trail, only to find it under a branch next to the cache.... doh!
Well, thanks for letting us include the WolfMan in our travels. I'm sorry it took so long to get him going, and hope he enjoys his new home. I'm sure he'll have many new European adventures before he makes his way back home.
