Current Goal

This coin is placed to commemorate my 300th geocache find. Since it's my first milestone outside my home state of VA, I thought a good mission for this coin would be to visit all 50 states. Please don't hang onto me! Pass me along! Keep me moving from cacher to cacher, cache to cache, and take pictures of me in interesting places along the way.

About This Item

This is the last of a bunch of Virginia geocoins I bought to place in my milestone and favorite caches. See my profile page to see where my other favorite caches are and where their namesake coins are.

I contacted Ken Johnson of the Russian Submarine Museum this week about the cache container recovered from the Juliett 484 and whether or not the Saratoga Museum and the Russian Submarine Museum staff still wished to have a media event or if they now preferred a more subtle return of the cache container.

Ken forwarded the message to Frank Lennon and Bill Sheridan and received word back that at this point, a private little ceremony will suffice.

Ken, Frank, and Bill were all extremely critical keys in Rhode Island to making the Juliett 484 geocache possible, as was gpsfun on the geocaching.com side. A further thanks to the Navy Salvage Divers who made the effort to locate the cache container sixty feet underwater in a 300 foot long flooded vessel.

I will continue to keep everyone updated as I receive news, and look forward to being able to return the travel bugs and geocoins to the owners after the cache is re-opened for the first time in three years.

#300!!! Wahoooooo!
Came here with some family members after having brunch in Providence. What an awesome cache! I really enjoyed the theme and the puzzle.
We could not find the answer to the last question for compartment 8. It turns out, the number is printed on the INSIDE of the door, and they had the door closed and locked because they were storing some expensive tools inside. When we asked them, they told us the answer though.
Brought a few TBs to trade, but only found one TB in the cache. Traded Buttons the Frog TB for the Bonsai Bill TB, and also left a VA Geocoin to commemorate my 300th geocache find.
TFTC!
