About This Item

These are another of nature's creatures that absolutely fasinate me.  I've seen variations that range in size from an inch to several inches in size.  The big ones kind of made me hold my breath.  I could see the mouth and eyes move... strange... but their colors are so gorgeous.  They are quite ravenous and carnivorous creatures.  For many years I lived in a foothills area that was sparsely populated and was building a home in stages.  One summer there was a huge hatching of flying termites... yuck... kept feeling like they were getting stuck in my hair!  The sudden appearance of tons of dragonflies of assorted colors and sizes was amazing.  That's when I got to know this interesting creature much better and appreciate its role in the scheme of things.  Everything has a purpose.... even if I like or don't like it.  Enjoy and learn about the nature you come across... there's amazing things out there.
