Current Goal

Distance solvers will have access to the Cerebral Codex "Distance Cache Travel Bug". Solve the Cerebral Codex & log it.

About This Item

There are a lot of great puzzle solvers out there who can not physically participate in the geographic challenges of the Cerebral Codex.  This travel bug cache page is for you.  If you are a distance cacher who has solved the Cerebral Codex but is unable to physically complete the field challenges, please feel free to log a note proclaiming your victory on the main cache page and then follow the instructions in the "Chapter 11" area for logging the "Cerebral Codex - Distance Cacher Travel Bug".

"A cleverly crafted puzzle is a work of intellectual art when the simplicity of its solution is beautifully hidden by the complexity of its design.  Such art requires imagination and creativity on the part of the creator and requires the solver to walk the fine line between inspiration and insanity."

Logging this TB is a true 5 star "difficulty" rating!

😁 FINALLY 😁

I have been working on this for a long, long time and finally unlocked the final puzzle this morning.

Kudos to the constructors ... what a tour-de-force of puzzleheaded ideas. Thanks for the challenge!

The ride never had a dull moment. Put off logging this because I did not want it to end. A true epic that was so exciting it reached oui and made you feel like you were part of the journey. I have not had as much escape from reality or thrills since I read Lord of the Rings as a young person while on a long "vacation" in the rainforests of Queensland in Australia. WOW. Sequel please.

Wow, what an adventure. First looked at it back in March, but decided it would be a big project and spring is calling. Then in September, picked it up and started the attack. That was lots of fun. Maybe someday I can make the trip to start on the physical challenges. Thanks for the awesome puzzle.

I can't believe I actually finished this. The Codex has occupied way too much of my free time over the past couple of months, and it's thanks only to hints from Dirty_Bird and BigNastyBrain that my brain didn't melt out of my ears.

I really enjoyed the story as a standalone. But the puzzles are in a class by themselves. I'd never seen anything like it before, and now I fear other, lesser puzzle caches will be spoiled for me.

Thanks to Dirty_Bird and BigNastyBrain for a great experience! Someday I hope to get to New Jersey to see what the on-the-ground challenges look like.

Cheers from Denver,
Jon

FINALLY!!! It has been months and months of work, torture, mind-numbing Chaos, but I am finally finished with the distance challenge! Thank you so much for this outstanding adventure. Now it's about time I got to work on the field challenge :)

My team and I started the puzzles in the codex about a month ago and had just solved the Meshulash puzzle a few minutes ago, thus ending that part of this journey. Although I am logging a discovery for this TB, I, along with a team of cachers, plan to eventually visit the NJ area and complete the physical challenges. This was a great opportunity to utilize and hone our puzzle-solving skills, as well as learn some new ones. The book itself was well written. Jon and Bret certainly kept us entertained, I personally loved the part about the pink hair! Most of the dual-solution puzzles are unlike any other puzzle we have encountered before. Thank you DB and BNB for these wonderfully addicting mental challenges. Our team is excited to start the physical journey and complete the ultimate caching experience.

A great story. We took a short break after completing choas. Before we finished reading the book the Rozecki's would inform us of another puzzle they completed. Now that all the puzzles are completed, we are ready for the field adventure. We are all so excited and will be starting this Sun. and we will definitely look for that bonus tb.
