About This Item

8b Loyal Drifter image

The owner is a 16 year old Eagle Scout who recently received several hours of classroom training and field experience about geocaching.  This TB was released to fulfill requirement 8b for the Geocaching Merit Badge:  Create a Scouting-related Travel Bug that promotes one of the values of Scouting.
 
The hitchhiker is an arrowhead bolo used by Boy Scout Troop 448 in Murfreesboro, TN.  The “Value of Scouting” that it represents is LOYALTY.  Since 1961, the Men’s Club of Trinity United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro has sponsored Boy Scout Troop 448.  Their loyalty to the young men of our community has resulted in 54 Eagle Scouts.
 
The owner of this Travel Bug has been a member of Troop 448 since 2008, and became an Eagle Scout in 2012.  He has been loyal to this troop during the past five years, and is currently a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.
