About This Item

Original Travel Bug Patches

The original travel bug patchs: 1) U.S. Army Vietnam patch, 2) Military Assistance Command Vietnam and 3) The Burning Worm.
My interest in the military started as a small boy. I collected dozens of Army patches including these. My dad is a retired cook from the Wisconsin National Guard field artillery and the Navy Seabees.
I enlisted even before I graduated from high school. I served in the Army from 1986-1990 as a combat tank crewman on the M1 Abrams.
Hopefully this travel bug will raise awareness to the sacrifice veterans have made and active soldiers make everyday.

Write note 12/13/2013 caretaker5 posted a note for it   Visit Log

got a no traveler in cache log the other day, so I went to check on it. I'm sad to confirm the report, your travel bug was not present in the cache. marking it as missing to remove it's icon from the inventory of my cache so no other seekers come looking for a traveler in the cache. hopefully there is just a delay in logging it out, and it turns up back in circulation soon.

Sorry i had it so long. The 3rd battalion chips was my add. My f-i-l was in mike company holding down leatherneck square in vietnam. He survives to day and just returned from his marine reunion. He was injured by shrapnel and has a purple heart. Proudly his oldest became a marine station in japan, now out, and his middle son a navy fireman on the uss arlee burke (sp?) from 92-96. Was going to attach a photo but could get it to work. Thanks to all the vets!!! Thank you:)
