Once there were green fields
Kissed by the sun
Where a young boy
Gaily did run
Under the blue sky
When tears were kissed away
Back in a time when
"War" was a game to play
Oh for the days of that spring and green fields.Time has a habit
Of moving right along
Boys grow to manhood
And hear the martial song
In uniform now
Where War is no game
For some, a last roll call --
