We recently visited some ancient Native American effigy / burial mounds. It rekindled a longstanding interest and respect of these native peoples. An effigy mound is a raised pile of earth made into the shape of animals or people. Some archeologists belive they were built for primarily religous ceremonies, but some were used for buiral purposes as well. These mounds can be found all over the US, however the Wisconsin Mound builders built the most around 4000! As you travel through the woods, please take some time to reflect upon these early Native Americans. If their spirits still linger, what would they think of us? Please be sure to log this coin as you move it around the world! Be at peace & treat the land with respect. Enjoy your time with this coin!
