About This Item

Hafeli Coat Of Arms

KLINGNAU KAMERA MADE IT!  After nine years, Klingnau Kamera has returned home to Michigan.  Thanks to all who moved it along and took pictures with it.  You can see the photos that the camera took in the links below.

My family can be traced back hundreds of years to the village of Klingnau, Switzerland. I don't know when I'll have the chance to see Klingnau, but I thought I could send a travel bug there in the meantime in my stead.

This bug is a one-time-use camera. It has made it to Klingnau and is ready to come home. I would like it to return via geocache back to an as-yet unspecified geocache in Metro Detroit, Michigan, USA.

I was able to find a store that still does one hour photos from film (this is their last month, they told me!) The pictures came out amazingly well! You can see them all on the travel bug page.

Thanks again to everyone who moved it and who took the great photos. If you can provide details on any of the pictures, please contact me through the Geocaching site.

PS Oh, yes, I was also able to keep the camera.

Retrieve It from a Cache 2/3/2012 Dinoprophet retrieved it from AF: Old Orion Pump House Michigan   Visit Log

Nine years and one day -- more than 12-1/2 thousand miles. When I released this bug, the most I was realistically hoping for was for it to visit a few interesting sites before getting lost. But a steady string of great cachers helped it along, and here it is, on my desk, 0 photos remaining. I'm stunned at how good the camera looks after its trip.

On the camera, it says "Process Before 2004-11". I missed that by a bit. Hopefully I'll be able to get it processed this weekend before it gets much older. If anything turns out okay, I'll post them here.

Thanks to everyone who handled die Kamera on its long journey, and especially The Allen Cachers for carrying it on its final leg and burbles for placing a cache just to get it moving again.

After a brief rest, maybe I'll send the tag back to Klingnau again...

The camera has been delivered to the cache which was its goal. We are glad that we were able to complete its mission.

We sure hope that you post all the photos here once you get photos on the disposable camera developed!

What a triumphant return for this bug! Thanks to all who are moving it along. It sounds like the camera is still attached -- incredible! I hope I can find someone who still processes film!

Since my original destination cache for the bug has long been archived, I'm going to change the goal to <a href=http://coord.info/GC2DJ13>this cache</a>, which is about as close to my doorstep as a cache will ever get. Bring 'er home, folks! :)

We stopped by and found the cache created for this TB on our way home from the CAGE event. We'll get this TB to Detroit soon.

We have your camera! We got it from Steve Vida at the CAGE event today. We can get it to Detroit for you. I bet you are excited to see the pictures on there, I know that we are certainly curious to see them!

The cache listed on the TB page as the goal, Pinnacle Point, appears to have been archived. Is there another cache you would like us to drop it in instead? If so, just let us know.

Picked this up from a new cache that was published recently.
Cache logs looked like the TB has moved, but has been M.I.A. online.

We should be heading towards Detroit soon, and will get it as close to its goal as possible.

Wow, never give up on lost bugs! It looks like someone found this long lost bug and created a cache just to help it: http://coord.info/GC3AHH6

Maybe it will make it home yet!
