Wijk bij Duurstede is a very old town. It was destroyed by the Vikings three times around the year 900 AC. Today the water is the only enemy left. The mill, which is also the city gate, and the rest of the town is surrounded by city walls and dykes. In the wall there are gaps to protect the town against high water levels of the river Rhine. The caps can be closed with wood and sand, when needed. The last time the water level was dangerously high was 1995. You can see that on the walls, where it is written in stone. The Rhine is controlled by a big lock with three chambers further on the river. Ship movements are recorded by the Radar, at the cache location. You can still see the old town mill from here.
I managed to get a picture of a Biker on the Dyke. Not with the coin on it though. Maybe others have more luck or oppertunity's to photograph this coin with great bikes.
