Current Goal

Paddling faster is a safety mechanism when whitewater rafting. But this is not a mantra that is oft-used by safety-conscious drivers/riders on the roads. Too often, people are hurt, or even killed, when someone else decides that they want to go faster. Please pay attention to your surroundings, and be aware of who else may be near you while you are travelling on the road. Other bikers' and drivers' lives really do depend on it. I want to travel the country, from cache to cache, reminding people of this very truth.

I am releasing this coin in memory of Todie Joe Phillips, who was taken from us on 8/12/2008 when another driver turned left in front of him while he was riding his motorcycle. The other driver was not injured. Please be as attentive as possible when traveling. While on my travels, please take my picture as often as possible, and post them on this page, so that others, including my friends and owner, may be able to see where you have brought me. At some point, I would like to travel to South-Central PA or Western MD to visit my owner, SgtMikal, as we have never met face-to-face. This coin was awarded to me in a cointest a long time ago, and released into the wild at that time. Since then, it has travelled over 11,000 miles before finding its way to my hands. I went and picked it up on my lunch break. Thanx to everyone who helped move this lil' guy along!
