Hot Tip

On 3/18/05 at 6pm, the only bridge across the Milwaukee River for miles in either directions was closed in Saukville, WI (N43 22.928 W87 56.202). The old bridge was closed to jack it up and "roll it" sideways over the river 20 feet at a rate of about 1 foot per hour. The bridge was temporarily moved to make way for a new four-lane bridge that will be built over the next 9 months. There were many fears that are only bridge would be damaged and/or drop in the river. But as of 3pm on 3/20/05 all is well; it's not open to traffic but it's in place! While checking it out I found a discarded welding torch tip from the project ... and this travel bug was born!

Our 100th find: "Got Divorce?"! Not divorced yet! We had our kids along, and a 9-yr-old friend. It was her first find. We remembered the "Mike's Choice" cache, too. We had found it when the area was shrouded in ripe wild grapes. We didn't find any dead blackbirds today. There were plenty of live ones though.
