To travel far and wide, meet people, see the beautiful things this world has to offer and get back to sweet home Alabama every now and then for a visit.
Please leave it in a cache that is visited often. Any photographs of its travels will be appreciated.
Bogus discoveries will be deleted without notice.
My dad was fascinated with learning. He liked traveling which is good since he had jobs that required quite a bit of both national and international travel. My dad enjoyed nature, photography, new technology, and meeting people. He loved hunting--for an unusual plant or a particular item my mother may have mentioned.
We lost him in 1999 after a year long fight with pancreatic cancer. The following year my mother gave a GPS unit to me. In 2007, I was introduced to geocaching.
In honor of my dad, I am releasing my first travel bug to “cache” for him in spirit. He would have loved geocaching since it encompasses many of those things he enjoyed.
This travel bug is a picture I took of my father doing one of the things he did often: find flowers to photograph.
(Thanks to MsMandy of S-Charm for her invaluable assistance with this travel bug.)

We are honored to be part of this TB. It was also very exciting for the kids to find their first one! The Mountain Meadows was a beautiful area and we'd like to take it to an equally lovely area. The kids and friends are leaving to return to CA today and will take it with them via UT to get in a few extra miles :) TFTC!

Pictures of TB drop, just as he would have liked it. I dropped it at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=896be31d-fd6d-45f1-8f7c-6d93197894bf , because I sense that her dad would have loved it at this place, taking pictures of flowers in the "Mountain Meadows" ....and of deer crossing the road here, or elk and the occasional moose.
