The ISS Travel Bug has found its way to Groundspeak HQ. Thank you to LordBritish for llowing us to have enjoy the TB until the Geocaching Block party and TheReverseGeocacheGuy for carrying the valuable TB from its home in Austin, TX up here to Seattle.

I was privileged (and stressed!) by the honor of being asked to courier this famous little buggy from Austin to its temporary home in the great Pacific Northwest, under the admonition from LordBritish's staff to take good care of it, because, you know, "it is irreplaceable". I thought about handcuffing the suitcase I carried it in to my wrist like they do in the old spy movies, but it seemed like that would just attract too much attention, wouldn't it?

So while I didn't actually sleep with it under my pillow, during the four days it was in my custody there were definitely were a few stressful moments when I couldn't immediately remember what corner of the room I had placed it. It was definitely a relief when I ceremoniously handed it off to Eric Schudiske (UncleJames) and the rest of the Groundspeak staff Thursday afternoon.

Come check it out when you get a chance. It was hard to find a framer in Austin that could mount it at such short notice, but they did a good job. The framer asked whether they should clean off the little dab of goo (space coffee??) at the bug's lower right leg, but we all agree that that just adds to the mystique.

Kinda sad that Chamitoff plans to return it to its owner, because it actually has a post-ISS mission.
