Current Goal

Buzz's Mission is to liberate all Travel Bugs that are being held hostage in TB Hotels with 1 to 1 or minimum number of Travel Bugs swap policies. These caches are keeping Travel Bugs prisoners, ignoring the TBs' goals, and need to be broken out of once in a while. If you find Buzz where you expected to find numerous Travel Bugs, just think of how he will help you with all the TBs in the next Travel Bug Hotel. ;-)

-------------------//---------------------

About This Item

BUZZ THE LIBERATOR

How would you like it if you went to a resort where you met other travelers, stayed for a bit, but when your cab came to get you, the doorman told you that you can not leave, since there is a "no empty room" policy?

So you're waiting patiently in the lounge, waiting for a new arrival to take your room. Other hostages who also need to go places join you for endless drinks. Taxis and buses going to your goal come by the hotel, but they can not give you a ride, since they have no traveler to exchange.

At last, a new traveler arrives. "I Am Finally Free!" you yell out, and grab your luggage to hitch that ride.

But Wait! The cab driver is the one who choose who he liberates. And chances are it will not be you, regardless of how long you have been sitting there. "That one traveler in the corner, the one with the cute smile, he gets to go," the driver decides. You just stay there, helpless, with your mouth open and you bags weighing you down. The concierge looks at you with disdain, and motions you back towards the lounge.

Not exactly a great trip, is it? Indeed, that is exactly what happens to Travel Bug who get bogged down in Hotels with strict swap rules.

And these hotels are actually against the Travel Bugs Golden Rule of Etiquette found on GeoCaching.com and that states that:
""...travel bugs do a lot of travelling, so try not to hold on to a travel bug for too long.".

Yes, for a businessman on a trip, it is safer to find a TB hotel where he knows he will be able to trade Travel Bugs, and this way an individual Travel Bug seems to have chances of moving further away quicker, but the end result is most often quite the opposite, as Hotels are most often visited by local geocacher then by distant ones.

In that spirit, Buzz's mission is to liberate prisoners that are being held against their will. If you have this Travel Bug, it is your mission and duty to bring it to a TB Hotel with such constraining trade policies, and exchange ALL of the Travel Bugs held hostage in it against this single one.

But do spread within at most 2 weeks all of the freed TBs to caches without any strict swap restrictions, so that others who are able can better help the TBs on their way towards their goal. Of course, if you can help some of them yourself, feel free to do so.

If these prisons' wardens complain that you are breaking their strict trade rules, tell them it's not your fault: the rule on the bug that you found ordered clearly that you do this. It's the Travel Bug's mission against the caches mission. And as stated above, restrictive rules of TB Hotels are against the Golden Rule of Travel Bug Etiquette.

By the way, this Travel Bug was inspired by the "Get Out of (TB) Jail Free" Travel Bug (TBJQ2F).
