Current Goal

To Cruise among the Hardwoods, looking for beauties to Measure Up.

About This Item

I am a Cruising or Biltmore Stick used to size up merchantable board feet from standing Hardwoods. I have demarcations used to determine Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) and the number of 8' or 16' saw Logs from Standing Timber. I am pretty Crude, but I am serviceable and rather accurate. Grab me and we'll go Cruisin together!

It was fun going into the High Cliff State Park office to ask for the walking sticks, the staffer replied "oh yah, I've seen those in the back, but I've never had anyone ask for them."
Very nice stick, but we were unable to use this one today.

I've actually had this baby for a while and now it is at the entrance to High Cliff State park for others to grab at will. Please take good care of this stick, it is over 18 years old.
