My mission is to travel as far and wide as I can. Maybe one day I can be reunited with my owners, but only AFTER traveling the country or even perhaps the world. PLEASE DO NOT KEEP ME. Mark me as retrieved and then take me to another Cache and mark me as "Dropped off". DO NOT keep the charms found on the trackable, as these each have special meanings to each human in the family and are meant to travel with the wood piece and the sealed tube.
My name is Norainu (but you can call me Nora, that's OK). My masters think I was a border collie mix. On August 10, 2008, my owners were making a mad dash through Searcy, AR in search of as many geocaches as they could before picking up the child from female-owner's parents. Their last stop was at Riverside Park in Searcy to find some of the new caches there.
I was hanging around the caboose sniffing the ground when my owners saw me but assumed I was owned by some children playing in the playground. About half an hour later, my owners came back up the hill from the boat launch and saw me still in the park wandering around by myself.
I was very skinny and dirty but chased after the geocachers. I was too cute for them to pass up, and besides, I was chasing their car! Male-master picked me up and placed me in female-master's lap. They took me back to female master's parents and I haven't left their side since.
I have sniffed almost all the state parks in Arkansas (Ouichita and Petit Jean were a couple of my favorites) and have traveled to New Mexico, Tennessee, Minnesota and everywhere in between.
I lived a very long and loving life. Unfortunately, in August, 2021, I was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. My owners let me live to the fullest my last 2 months. On October 8, 2021, my owners made the very difficult and heartbreaking decision to let me go over the rainbow bridge.
But, this story does not end in sadness. On what would have been my 14th "Gotcha" Day, (August 10, 2022) an Australian Shepherd gave birth to a litter of puppies near my owners' home (now in NM). On the 1 year anniversary of my crossing the rainbow bridge, my owners brought home one of those puppies. She now sleeps on my bed and plays with my toys. I'm glad they found love again.
This trackable stayed on my collar for several years of my life and unfortunately, I lost the original while at a geochaching event with my owners. They made a new one, and so now, it's time for me to go and travel. My onwers will be fine. It's up to you now to show me the world!
