Nice stop on a rainy day crossing into Alberta. We wanted to hike in Elk Island National Park, but the weather was not in our favour. Hoping it will be better on the way back. Now off to Edmonton.

We had lunch at the beach restaurant and toured the Icelandic Museum. Gimli is on Lake Winnipeg and home of the Gimli "Glider" which was a DC 3 that was short on fuel and glided into the training base to land. A big story at the time 1983.
