About This Item

Mark Twain: Wit and Wisecracks

We picked up this book while visiting the Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal, Missouri. The book is full of Twain's quotes. It's a fun read. It's interesting how most of that wit and wisdom has withstood the test of time.

One of my favorites:
"My mother had a good deal of trouble with me but I think she enjoyed it."

I saw a couple quotes that I liked. "April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty four." "One mustn't criticize other people on grounds where he can't stand perpendicular himself." Both very true. Thanks for spreading some wit and wisdom around to the world.

I didn't take this one, but I cracked it open and instantly selected this quote: "There comes a time in every rightly-constructed boy's life when he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure."

I wonder if he knew about caching... Thanks for the quote!
