Current Goal

The smell of the ocean calls. I want to visit as much of the world's coast as possible. My owner has walked on the shores of Korea and I would like to visit there if I get a chance. However, until then I want to feel the spray of the ocean, smell the salt water, and get lots of pictures of beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

The Arkaroo went to maintain his geocache The Pinnacles (GC2J7JJ) with this Travel Bug in his pockets:

Boys and Girls, here you go! New cache in place again with the new logbook listing all previous finds and the current issue. We'll keep an eye on this, especially during heavy weather.

Unfortunately, the Travel Bug "Ramona's Angel" (TB3E46J) may have lost his life here...

Careful forensic investigations led to the conclusions, that some water may run down the crack where the cache is located. Despite the rocks placed downstream, it must have been enough to wash it away. The rocks, however, were still in place, so the currents cannot be that excessive. Therefore, we developed a so-called Cache Catching Cage, made up by a mesh squeezed between the rocks, containing the waterproof cache itself. The Cache Catching Cage is designed to open from the uphill side, so that flowing waters flush the cache into the cage. Although the Cache Catching Cage is cached between the boulders, Cache Catching Cage Securing Rocks have been placed on the downhill side of the Cache Catching Cage, which are supposed not to be moved by cachers. After displacing a small rock, the Cache Catching Cage Cover mesh can be easily flipped on the uphill side of the Cache Catching Cage to retrieve the cache by the cacher and sign the cache log.

Hope, that helps!

Retrieve It from a Cache 1/29/2011 The Arkaroo retrieved it from Transit Lounge New South Wales, Australia   Visit Log

I'll show you a nice beach, mate! Therefore I took you from the Transit Lounge (GC1F66B)

This cache was on my to-do list for a while! Today, I dropped off a big bug: my little brother Savoy Truffle; at the International Terminal. He has the pants full of travel bugs - we sought a lot together, howver, mostly I offered him to keep the travel bugs, 'cause was is here for only 7 weeks and may scatter them in Europe. So, after dropping him off, I went seeking for myself, just to build up my repertoire again for some upcoming, planned trips.

Today is Saturday, and the roads and surroundings were not that busy, so that I could easily find a parking spot 'behind' Ground Zero. Nice little walk - needed the hint to find, but then sat down in that bush and just took my time and relaxed - did not have that for a long time 😉
