Current Goal

This Trackable is found on the highly-competitive FTF (first-to-find a geocache) hunt in Seattle. The honor from finding the Seattle FTF Bell is immeasurable, and the bearers of this Bell should be accorded the respect and bragging rights due to these infamous cachers. Ideally, the Bell is displayed prominently by the tireless cacher while searching for those elusive FTFs. Some might say that this is to give the rest of us a chance, but truly this honor transcends such petty utilitarian goals.

This Trackable should stay with the finder, and be re-hidden (physically or as an off-site FTF prize) in a new Seattle cache, ideally within two months of finding it. As it is meant to be found and logged with an FTF, please do not discover the Bell, but feel free to write a note. All members of a co-FTF team may log the Bell, of course.  In addition, please no "visits" to caches because it clogs this page, but logging a visit to events is encouraged!

If you forsee that you are unable to place the Seattle FTF Bell in a new cache within Seattle in the suggested time period, please contact the owner (Team Maccabee), and we will find someone who will be able to do so. You will remain on the list of finders, of course.

Well, fauxSteve (but not fauxTUS), what comes next is a picture, which can be a loose interpretation of you with the Prize. But the cache and the hide I will leave up to your ingenious brain. I have no doubt that it will be of high quality.

Woo Hoo! A TUS is me! Thanks Team Maccabee for keeping us competitive! I've got a couple hides in mind, but I need to decide which is more worthy of this prize! So far it's been in a mystery cache and two long-drive multis (one of which was also a puzzle). What comes next?

  • The Tus-lympics! I struck my best pose for my TUS photo! Party on dudes and dudettes!

Oh, the stupid things we do for silly bits of scrap metal! It was late. It was pouring down rain. We were soaked and very cold. We got it! It was sooooo worth it. Are we ubergeeks or what? Photos to follow. I suppose we need to come up with another hide now...

  • The TUS Terrier outstanding in her field!

This silly (I mean EXALTED) thing made me lose a night's sleep. I kept dreaming about it, worried that someone else would get it before I got my pathetic sweaty mitts on it. I'm like that creepy Gollum thing in Lord of the Rings.

I swear this is true: when I found the cache it was in, the first thing I did was SHAKE THE CACHE to see if the cowbell was in there! It was, but I couldn't hear it.

Now I have to create a cache worthy of - and big enough for! - this TB. Hmmm. Off to the workshop...

  • Markta Dec. 18, 2005 Found this at OBE's Sculpture cache!

Who was that shadow in the night? The dull glow of a headlamp set on low. A broad-brimmed hat pulled low over sunglassed eyes. Moonlight reflecting off the face of a Garmin (tool of choice by those who know). Who was that in the 0:dark-30 of a geomorning? I'll add my photo ID to this delightful travel bug. If you're a TUS (and you know who you are) you'll add yours too, if you find it in a chache near you.

  • FTF 11/26/05 I'll be proud to wear the TUS bell and beacon until I hide in a new cache that just might be near you.
