About This Item

Scavok Celtic Tree of Life

Coin designed by Scavok has a beautiful version of the Irish Celtic Tree of Life. The art work is so defined that it takes a magnification to truly appreciate. For instance did you notice the Doves and Squirrels amongst the branches. Read more about the Celtic Tree of Live here for general information. Oh and also here.

On the back are 7 Celtic designs within one large design. Again magnification shows it's intricate and amazing artistic perfection.
As pictured on the right the symbols are as follows:

Top Left: Triskelion
The traditional triskelion does not have 3 circles; it is 3 branched arms giving the appearance of constant forward movement. The trinity aspect has many meanings, but for the purpose of this coin my intention was representation of mind, body and spirit. Mine is a triskelion with the three branches mirrored on its self (mirrored curves create the circles) representing reflection of the past and looking to the future in all three aspects.

Top Right: The Labyrinth
One of the many symbols with many, may meanings throughout a world of cultures. This is a very important symbol to me in that the path between two points is always longer than a straight line. If you have never walked a labyrinth, go find one and use it. I’m not somebody who hums over scented candles, chanting curses and things like that so don’t think I’m a weirdo in any sort. But, really, walking a labyrinth while taking some solace and putting everything else out of your mind is an eye opener by the time you reach the center. If you've done it, you know what I mean.

Right: The Animal
This symbol is my rendition of the knot called “the animal.” There are as many meanings for this symbol as there are artistic renditions. My claim to this symbol is freedom.

Bottom Right: Arrow Trinity
Representing mind, body and spirit, this time in the sense of power, determination and inner strength.

Bottom Left: Quaternary Knot
It is a continuous knot (not the 3 sided “endless knot”) leading to all 4 classic directionals in all 4 seasons and is also believed to symbolize luck (a clover predecessor) and with luck comes protection in the journey.

Left: Flower
Celtic artists would use flowers in vines to symbolize union and the fact that as special as a single, unique item may be, there is beauty in numbers (whether it be people, flowers, adventures, experiences…). My rendition is just one flower, but interweaved vines are included.

Center: Clockwise Spiral
The simple clockwise spiral (again in the three important areas) is often representative of the sun emphasizing growth and development.

The Tree of Life: The tree of life is the connection of all the other symbols. Also a sign of wisdom, It was the doorway between hope and reality, sustenance and protection, work and recreation. It is the symbol of complete interdependence between all aspects of the world we live in.

What a grand event and so many that appreciate quality coin art. This coin was examined many times with magnifying glass by many of Cachers at the event. Only problem is it's not on our published listing yet.. But we will get it on there and published then send out notifications to those who wish to log their discovery.

Went for a day of Jeff Dunham caching with Nativefly182 and Jailbirds it seemed like the right thing to do. But first we must pay homage to The Clan. By that we mean that somehow the Jailbirds had missed out on Geezer Springs II and the weirdo that lurks as servant to the little fishes. You know the one the stories in the logs are about that decorates the forest and does other strange things.

Well, we can mark that off our to do list... When we arrived Nativefly182 had already had enough of this very strange person who came up on him while waiting for us to arrive. He informed us that the cache thingy wasn't in the spring anymore and he was glad because it was messing up the balance of nature and the forest. Now it seems that people keep coming anyway. So he wanted us to know it wasn't there anymore. A lot weird yes but harmless. All righty then, we said. We'll just move along now and we went after the Cache. Lucky for us he went on about his way and was gone when we returned so we could get some photos.

Then it was off onto the mission. The Jailbirds share the same compassion for Jeff Dunham's characters as the hider apparently does. We briefly stopped at Walter first just in case it was back in action but didn't see anything. From there it was the rest of the gang. Peanut, Bubba J, Sweet Daddy, Melvin the super hero, Achmed and ending with Jose Jalapeno on a stick.

All were really well hide and presented a bit of a challenge, but as usual when out with a group somebody finally finds it. We all liked the styles utilized and the fact that they weren't all the same kept us thinking all the time. Jose threw us for a loop but finally after a bit of encouragement and a little nudge from using a life line we figured it out. We all thought we covered that and all missed it even though every one of us has done this type before. Oh man is hindsight clear once you've signed the log.

With all worthy caches found behind us it was time to refuel and so we did at the nearby Applebees.. Good dinner, great company and some caching stories made for a great ending to a fun afternoon.

Oh we did snatch a pin from one of them and put something in it's place. The pin will go in a special place. You'll have to go to the CFC Hop on Over to Help Peter GeoRabbit Event to see where that place is. Or email us and we might tell you.

Thanks for the Fun & the caches!

This log was copied and pasted out of pure laziness and because it was all part of a day of crazy caching with a bunch of crazy Cachers. If you no like it then Boom! I blow U up!
