Current Goal

To spread motorcycle and bike safety awareness throughout the world! I'd like to make a stop at the island of Rhodes in Greece, but my message is needed everywhere!

About This Item

Token coin

This coin is being released as part of the Todie's Wild Ride Bike Awareness Project initiated by Rockin Roddy in response to the death of his good friend Tod Phillips. On August 12, 2008, Tod was riding a motorcycle when he was killed in an accident caused by a left turning vehicle. Tod was one third of Team Rod & Tod w/KAboom. This coin is released in his memory and in memory of all motorcyclists and bicyclists killed on the road.


Please remember, driving is a responsibility, not a right.
Being in a rush and trying to shave off a few seconds isn't worth someone else's life.
Always, always look! Don't assume the coast is clear!

- This coin was a gift, and was made possible in part by GATOULIS, a very kind kitty-type person in Greece. I'd love for it to be able to travel there so he can check it out, but the primary mission of this coin is to raise awareness of bike safety. So please feel free to move along anywhere. :) -

While not a Californian, I believe the laws there allow for bikers to do just what B12 was commenting on, they can ride down the middle of the lanes. Call it a speed lane only avaible for bikers, a bit of a benefit for those of us who have no air conditioners, no protection from the heat and elements. I personally don't condone wild or irresposible riding, but understand the reasoning for the laws there.

b12edwards: I agree, it's everyone's responsibility to be safe. :) I don't actually ride a motorcycle, but have become far more aware of them since getting to know Rod and learning about Tod.

I agree that we all need to watch out for and give bikes and motorcycles lots of breathing room on the road. It’s amazing, though, how often I see them taking risks by scooting along in between lanes when the traffic is moving slow.
