This TB's mission is to travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, there to be claimed by a local cacher. That cacher should contact evi1chef, to arrange for the TB's adoption and reassignment to a new mission.
In September of 1990, I arrived in Saudi Arabia as part of what was then called "Operation Desert Shield". Seven months later, I flew back to my home base in Germany a Veteran of a Foreign War. At various times in between, I visited the gold markets, got roomed with a 2-star general, came across mummified fish in the middle of the desert, was within 1/4-mile of a SCUD missile strike, hung out with a herd of camels, used a forklift to clean up a beach, and found this little trinket on the ground somewhere. Only recently have I had my suspicions about it confirmed, discovering (thanks to the omniscient Wikipedia) that the images on the medallion are the former logos of the Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association. I've kept this souvenir long enough that I no longer need a material reminder of those experiences, and believe it's now time to send it back home.
