I promise...we WILL wrest Piglet out of our 2-year-old's hands to pass him off soon. He enjoyed his picnic trip today...more scenery and all, but told the 2-year-old that he REALLY wants to take an American train overnight to the Pacific Northwest. So, we've booked him a seat and bed on Amtrak's Coast Starlight.
The line runs from San Diego, California through Oregon and Washington to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Piglet and his newfound travel companions will jump on the line at San Luis Obispo, California then hop off 25 hours (give or take 6 hours, given the U.S. rail system) later in Kelso, Washington.
He'll then travel by car either along the northern edge of the Columbia River or down to Oregon and along its southern banks, ultimately ending up in Seaview, Washington for an early Thanksgiving feast. (He was thrilled to learn pork is NOT on the menu.) It is here that Piglet will finally change hands...or at least find a new cache to explore for awhile.
