Current Goal

The mission of this travel bug is to promote the values of Scouting which are outlined in the Boy Scout Law and Scout Oath.  I would like this travel bug to travel cross country from the East Coast (starting in Odessa, DE) to the West Coast (California) and returning back to Delaware making a complete round trip.   At its final destination, It can be dropped in any Geocache  in the surrounding Middletown, DE area where I will pick it up in the future.

About This Item

I am a Boy Scout who is working on my Geocaching merit badge and have selected this travel bug as a means to promote what scouting is about.

Retrieve It from a Cache 7/8/2011 drrichardh retrieved it from How Sweet It Is Too! Delaware   Visit Log

Picked up AJ's Scouting Bug to take it to Nottingham, PA today. We're having a family reunion up there and there's a regular sized geocache just down the road from where we will be gathering. This drop should allow the travel bug to start accumulating milage.

Thank AJ for releasing your travel bug out into the wild. Here's wishing it a safe journey across the country and back.

The information about us grabbing this travel bug from geocacher aj8898 is incorrect. My wife and I found this travel bug in a geocache here in Delaware today.

Both of us are former scouts and scout leaders so the mission of your travel bug is one we wanted to support.

On August 14th my wife and I along with our youngest son (who is 41) will be traveling to Disney World in Florida to meet up with our oldest son (who is 43) and his wife and our two grandsons (ages 11 and 4). We will be celebrating my 70th birthday, her 65th birthday, our 45 wedding anniversary and our oldest son and daughter in law's 20th anniversary.

We're sharing all this personal information because our oldest son and his family live in Pacifica, California (about 16 miles south of San Francisco). With your permission we'd like to to hold on to your travel bug then turn it over to our son and his family (who introduced us to geocaching back in 2005). They can see that your travel bug has a safe trip to California and can then start the return trip back to your home.

Please use our geocaching name to get in touch with us and let us know you wishes. If you would like to have your travel bug make the cross country trip in both directions as a travel bug - let us know that. We'd be happy to drop it back into another geocache so it can continue its journey.
