*** October 2022 - Update - the real Bobby The Doggy passed away in November 2020. She will always be remembered for her crazy antics and huge personality. I still make donations to BARK (the rescue kennels who helped her to adopt us)  when I can afford to. Thank you for keeping her memory alive by keeping her safe and moving her around. :) 

During 2012 I sponsored Bobby The Doggy 1p per mile and donated the money to a dogs home where I got my small dog Bob from.   Sadly she didn't travel too far and even though I started her off in good style with a trip to Egypt and back the total distance travelled was 5404 miIes - which I rounded up a little so we only raised £60 for the dogs home.  Still, every penny counts!

During 2013 I hope she continues her travels and if I can afford it I'll continue to sponsor her and donate to the charity in December 2013.

Bobby The Doggy is a Pooch On A Misson!

• Bobby The Travel Bug Doggy is named after one of my own dogs who is a BARK rescue dog. The real Bobby (see photo on the right) is a little Patterdale who came to live with us in her forever home in September 2008 when she was almost 4 years old, having spent a short time at Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels. Her previous owner wasn't able to cope with her any longer and gave her up for adoption.    Bobby was quite a (mentally) damaged dog when she first came to us but with love and patience she's much improved.  You can read her story on the BARK web site ( google Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels) Head to the forum and look for Tess (her previous name) in the Rehomed From BARK thread.

• For the past year or so I've had a swear tin that I take with me when I play darts. If I swear during the match then I have to pay a fine. This money goes to Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels - my way of saying thank you for them giving Bobby sanctuary when she needed it most.  Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels have huge bills and rely on people fund raising to help meet their costs. I'm so bad at darts that I didn't get picked for the team much this past season so there was only a donation of £25 to hand over, so I came up with a better idea......

This Travel Bug - Bobby The Doggy wants to travel as many miles as possible - and for each mile she travels I pledge to donate 1p to Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels (up to £100 - and if I'm feeling generous and if I can afford it, MORE>)

So please help Bobby The Travel Bug Doggy along.
