North to Dahlonega in the foothills of the Georgia mountains! Visiting the Bear on the Square Bluegrass festival at Georgia’s Oldest courthouse square. Dahlonega was the site of a gold rush in 1828. It was the site of the largest gold deposit east of the Mississippi resulting in the U. S. Establishing a mint here. Today the steeple on the Price Building is covered in gold as is the Georgia Capitol Dome in Atlanta.
