Johannes Vermeer wants to go back to The Netherlands. Again. To be more specific: De Haarlemmermeer.
He already travelled back home from Thailand. Wil he make it again?

A friend of mine was travelling to Asia in 2014 and visiting four countries. In each visited country he dropped a Dutch Geocoin, Geocoins showing Dutch icons:

Annie M.G. Schmidt, writer of children's books
Vincent van Gogh, painter
Tom Poes & Olivier B. Bommel, the main characters of comic book series by Maarten Toonder
Johannes Vermeer, painter

Mission of these 4 coins: Race back to the Netherlands,

This Johannes Vermeer-geocoin reached it's destination. We picked it up nearby and kept in for a while, visiting several geocaches. In 2021 during a holiday we took it abroad again and dropped it somewhere  to let it travel home to The Netherlands again.

What happened to the other 3 geocoins?
Vincent van Gogh went missing in Norway. Olivier B. Bommel went missing in Leiden, nearby our home.
And Annie M.G. Schmidt is since 2015 in the inventory of a geocacher who occasionally logs a geocache but does nothing with this geocoin. Since 2016 we have periodically send messages to that person but no reaction yet. I hope not but perhaps Annie M.G. Schmidt can be labeled as missing as well.

The local woods are closed until September due to severe damages caused by a storm 4 weeks ago. That's why many caches are temporary disabled. Nonetheless I was around today and had the chance to grab this one. And to take it with me for a while on a journey around town. Tonight it'll be watching the World Cup final in Brazil. :)

At our Sightseeing trip around Koh Chang island we stop at this great spot. Target are as written in inlay to come back to the Netherlands. So we come from Germany (West NRW) it is nearby. Hope it will be OK that the Coin get so fasten back to his homezone.
