Like the boy scouts this travel bug represents, it wants to travel far and wide and experience multiple adventures, We would also like to use this travel bug as a way to capture scouting stories. If you are a scout, or were a scout, please tell us about your troop or your experiences scouting.
This travel bug is being launched by Troop 8 out of Montclair, NJ - better known as The Ochos. The key chain attached to the travel bug is a copy of the Eagle Scout medal (it is not a real Eagle medal). The Ochos have been lucky enough to help many scouts earn the Eagle rank and many of our current scouts are working to become Eagles. It's an achievement that stays with you for a lifetime. A little bit about the Eagle Scout Badge:
The Eagle Scout Award. It’s Scouting’s highest rank and among its most familiar icons. Men who have earned it count it among their most treasured possessions. Those who missed it by a whisker remember exactly which requirement they didn’t complete. Americans from all walks of life know that being an Eagle Scout is a great honor, even if they don’t know just what the badge means.
The award is more than a badge. It’s a state of being. You “are” an Eagle Scout—never “were”. You may have received the badge as a boy, but you earn it every day as a man. In the words of the Eagle Scout Promise, you do your best each day to make your training and example, your rank and your influence count strongly for better Scouting and for better citizenship in your troop, in your community, and in your contacts with other people. And to this you pledge your sacred honor.

I discovered this trackable on the Trackables Gallery OR on someones trackable page back in August of last year. Since the number was available, I was told that you could do a "virtual find" and am assuming the owner has given permission to log it. If this is not the case, I apologize for my mistake. I love to look at all the wonderful trackables out there and have even found several that I have added to my own collection. Thanks to everyone for sharing them.
