She really wants to see the mahogony lap desk upon which Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence.

The desk was constructed by Philadelphia cabinetmaker Benjamin Randolph from Jefferson's own design.

When I picked up Blueberry, I had a meeting scheduled in Richmond, Va. Thought I could really move her toward her destination. The meeting has been canceled twice now, so I give up! If she's still here next time I head north, I may come back and get her. (She had a fine time watching the Sugar Bowl with me -- congrats to Auburn and thanks for a great game! Wish I could have seen Auburn play USC in a Natl Ch...)
