Front side is a raised metal image of the little mermaid and the words "Denmark" and "skål" which means Cheers (as in Bottoms up).
The backside shows a map of Denmark in green and the Danish flag Dannebrog in red. It also says "Skjule og søge", which is a lousy attempt of translating "hide and seek" to Danish.
There was a total of 500 coins made.
History:
In 2006 the Danish geocaching community were planning to produce the first trackable Danish geocoin, but an American geocacher, Chuck Silvernale (chiacache), beat them and made this mermaid coin while the official Danish coin was still being planned in the Danish forums. Chuck had visited Denmark in 1985 and liked the country and people, and when he found out there wasn't a Danish geocoin made yet, he decided to make one. Unfortunately he never asked the Danish geocaching community, and when they found out, they were shocked and offended.
Additional info:
The very first Danish geocoin was non trackable and made by the Danish team farogdatter in 2005 as a gift from the father in the team to the daughter on her confirmation day.
