Current Goal

Our goal for this travel bug is to get it to go to Hawaii.  We would like our travel bug to go here because of the tropical climate and diverse wildlife.

About This Item

The biome of Hawaii is a tropical rainforest.  Hawaii experiences many different climates depending on the location. The highest mountains in Hawaii ( Mauna Kea, Mauna Lea and Haleakala ) usually recieve snow in the winter.  On the other hand, at sea level, the temperature can get up to 90 degrees.  There are often extreme winds because of the trade winds and Lahaina winds, which only come 8-12 years.  There is always a constant flow of fresh ocean air on the Hawai'ian islands. Hurricane season ranges from June to November.  Also, Hawaii is usually driest from May to September.  Ten animals that live and are native to Hawaii are the Hawaiian Monk Seal, Hoary Bat, Blainville's Beaked Whale, Bottlenose Dolphin, Pacific Rat, Mouflon, Northern Elephant Seal, Indian Mongoose, Norway Rat, and the Pygmy Killer Whale.  Ten plants that live in Hawaii and are native to Hawaii are the HIdden-Petaled Ilima, Hoary Abutilon, Greenflower Indian Mallow, Koa, Chaff Flower, Black Maidenhair, Maile, Kauila, Beach Poppy, and the Bird's Nest Fern.

    Found it in the "Fork" cache. I assume that the owner forgot to "drop" the TB into the cache. I will "visit" that cache so that the TB gets credit for the miles. Added a dog to the chain to make the TB more visible on the journey. Will move this along soon. BigA800
