The coin is one of the coins of the series "Regions of Germany" and is an "Oecher Cacher Treff" coin. The cacher name "Fryslân walker" is engraved in the back of the coin to identify the owner.
The city of Hildesheim (N52°9.5', E9°57')is located in the the state of Lower Saxony. Since 815 it is the residence of the Roman Catholic Bishop.
The St. Mary Cathedral was built from 1010 to 1020 and is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
Visit the cathedral treasure (Domschatz) and the cathedral garden to see the rose bush supposedly 1000 years old.
